Supported Internships

The Supported Internship is based predominantly at Fairfield Hospital in conjunction with Northern Healthcare Alliance. Most of our placements are based at Fairfield Hospital in estates, catering, administration and the creche. We also offer placement in the local community with work experience in catering, maintenance and schools within our trust.  Students will attend a work placement three days a week to develop their customer service and employability skills whilst on placement.

Students are supported in their work experience placement by job coaches who will job shape a role allowing for reasonable adjustments in the workplace.  Whilst on the internship students are supported to become Independent travel trained to their placement and make informed choices about their adult life.

Students also attend college one day a week to gain an accreditation in customer service. The Supported Internship supports students into employment and volunteering opportunities in the local community.
