Uniform Policy

It is important that we all look smart in our uniform.

At Elms Bank we have school uniform that pupils are required to wear.

  • This encourages the pupils to be smart.
  • Avoids unpleasant comparisons or competition over clothes.
  • Ensures that clothing does not detract from school work.
  • All items of clothing or equipment should be marked clearly with the child’s name.
  • The wearing of make-up and jewellery is not allowed.
  • We ask that any watches worn are not expensive ones in case they are mislaid.
  • Pupils are requested not to bring large amounts of money or valuables etc. into school.
  • Extremes of fashion in hairstyles and colours will not be allowed (natural hair colours only).

The following uniform is required for pupils in year 7 to 11. Key Stage 5 are not required to wear uniform.

Option 1

  • White Blouse
  • School tie
  • Navy V-Neck Cardigan with school logo or Navy V-Neck Sweatshirt with school logo
  • Navy Blazer (optional) - School Badge available to order
  • Dark Grey Skirt or Dark Grey Trousers

Option 2

  • White Polo Shirt with school logo
  • Navy V-Neck Cardigan with school logo or Navy V-Neck Sweatshirt with school logo
  • Dark Grey Skirt or Dark Grey Trousers

Option 1

Shoes should be sensible, black with a low heel and grey socks. High-heeled shoes should not be worn. School blazer badges and ties can be purchased on Parentpay and collected from school.

Sweatshirts, Cardigans, Polo Shirts and PE Polo Shirts with logo can all be purchased online from Goodies.

All other uniform items can be purchased from most shops/supermarkets.

PE uniform

Option 1

  • White PE Shirt with school logo
  • Black Shorts or Black Skort
  • Fleece with school logo - optional item for colder weather
  • Black Jogging Pants - optional item for colder weather

Option 2

  • White PE Shirt with school logo
  • Black Shorts 
  • Fleece with school logo - optional item for colder weather
  • Black Jogging Pants - optional item for colder weather

All pupils are required to change for Physical Education into the PE uniform and trainers (not leisure boots as these have ridges on the soles).

In order to promote personal hygiene and independence skills, pupils are expected to shower after PE lessons. Pupils attending Hydrotherapy sessions should bring their own kit.

Mobile phones

Any pupil bringing a mobile phone should hand it in at the office (the school take no responsibility for loss or damage of items brought into school).
