Drop Down Day
This October, our school community came together to celebrate Inspirational People in honour of Black History Month. The day was filled with engaging activities that highlighted the contributions of remarkable individuals who have shaped our culture and values.
Students were thrilled to participate in a vibrant djembe drumming workshop led by Lawrie from Primary Workshops. The rhythmic beats not only energised the atmosphere but also deepened our understanding of African musical traditions.
In addition to drumming, students explored the art of Faith Ringgold, whose works celebrate storytelling and culture. They also learned about inspirational figures such as Stormzy, Mary Seacole, and Marcus Rashford, discussing their impact on society and the importance of resilience and leadership.
The day was a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in British culture, fostering appreciation for diversity and community values. We are excited to announce that our next Drop Down Day (DDD) will take place in January. We can’t wait to continue this journey of learning and celebration!
